This design is full of meaning, so let’s break it down:
The Palestine sunbird is a symbol of resistance and the freedom Palestinians, the same as all people, deserve. The sunbird flies freely through the skies over olive trees and orange groves from Gaza to Haifa, reminding us that liberation will come.
The Palestinian tatreez pattern pictured here, called “Water and Seeds”, comes from Gaza. Tatreez is traditional Palestinian embroidery with every stitch archiving memories and culture.
Lastly, the poppy, a flower native to Palestine, represents the martyrs taken over decades of violent colonial occupation, as well as the connection all Palestinians have to their land.
These symbols come together in this beautiful design 🇵🇸
